Do I need to see a doctor to have Physical Therapy?
In Connecticut, physical therapists may evaluate and initiate treatment of patients without a physician’s prescription. However, Workers’ Compensation carriers, Medicare, and certain health insurance providers will not pay for physical therapy services without a prescription from a physician.
